Kathie attended Northern Arizona University on a full music scholarship. During college, she performed in opera and choral productions and had leading roles in musical theater productions. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and a minor in vocal music performance. After graduation, Kathie worked as a flight attendant for America West Airlines and worked in local dinner theaters (Jed Nolan’s and Yesterdays) and performed in community and regional theater portraying many leading ladies of musical theater including Kate in Kiss Me Kate (Mesa Musical Theatre), Maria in Sound of Music” (Fountain Hills Theater) and Grace Farrell in Annie (Theater League). Kathie eventually began a long and rewarding education career in California and earned a Master’s degree in School Counseling. After retiring from education in 2023, Kathie moved back to Scottsdale to care for her mother. She immediately reunited with many long-time theater friends and jumped head first back into theater. During the 24-25 season, Kathie was cast in two 2024 Summer Shorts at Theatre Artists Studio (Blank Canvas written by Debra Rich Gettleman directed by Tom Noga and The Package written by Diana Grillo directed by Richard Hardt), Mother in Ragtime - The Musical (Fountain Hills Theater), and Carla in Grand Horizons (Stage Left Productions). She is excited and honored to serve on the Board of Directors of 5th Wall Playhouse, a new theater opening November 2025 in the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts.
