Charles "Chuck" Sowder

Chuck obtained a BA in Speech, Theater, and Communications from Indiana University, Indiana in 1975, then did graduate work at Portland State University, Oregon, and University of Oregon in Theatre Arts and Telecommunications.


He was a Founding member of Theatre on The Square (now the District Theatre), in Indianapolis, IN in 1988. Since then, he has been involved in over 100 productions in Indiana, Arizona, New Mexico, Alaska, Oregon, and Virginia as actor, director, technical director, shop foreman, properties, etc.


Recent productions as an actor include:  Glengarry Glen Ross, Macbeth and Verdict at Desert Stages Theatre in Scottsdale, AZ; I Never Sang for My Father, Inherit the Wind, and The Christians at Theatre Artists Studio and Hamlet, The Tempest, Twelfth Night, Henry V, and As You Like It for Southwest Shakespeare Company, Mesa, AZ.

 

A retired general residential contractor, Chuck plays interactive trivia on a nationally ranked team, reads constantly and travels extensively. He lives in Phoenix with his partner and supporter of 22 years, Virginia Goll. Top of his Drama Bucket List:  playing King Lear!
