Andrea Markowitz became hooked on theatre at age seven, when she saw her first Broadway show. She earned degrees in English literature, musicology and psychology, and landed jobs as an advertising copywriter, human resources generalist, assistant professor, and writer/editor of nonfiction books and articles before she authored her first play, Feeding the Furies. A New Jersey native, Andrea also lived in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Maryland before she moved to Arizona in 2002, where she resides in the Sonoran Desert foothills. She credits being surrounded by untamed scenery and wild critters, as well as her wonderful husband Pat O’Brien and adorable rescue dogs Chipper and Coco, for much of her inspiration.
