Elise and her partner are in town to support her grandfather, whose imminent surgery is no piece of cake. The possibility of losing him shifts the ground beneath her feet, unearthing parts of her childhood she thought were safely buried. She deeply appreciates her grandparents -- they rescued her from unfit parents -- but she now finds herself reliving not just their love, but the darkness their love helped her to overcome.

The Studio's FIRST LOOK program is an opportunity for our audiences to participate in the development of new, imaginative theater — to interact with our playwrights, directors and actors to help us perfect a story before it is brought to the stage for a paying audience.
