Micki Shelton
Micki Shelton grew up in Scottsdale and studied playwriting at South Coast Repertory’s Professional Conservatory in Santa Ana, CA. Her first play, Circles, was part of Ashland, Oregon’s 2 nd Annual New Plays Festival. Since then, she has had over two dozen plays produced, including full-lengths Medea’s Ghost by the studio in 2010; Fred and Mary: An Unconventional Romance (Arizona Centennial Production, 2012); and La Posada (Prescott’s Elks Theatre, 2023).
Mick’s short plays have been included in play festivals in California and Arizona, including by Little Black Dress INK, Herberger Theater Center’s Kax Stage, El Camino Real Playhouse, and as part of the Studio’s New Summer Shorts. Her play Jitterbug was published in the inaugural edition of New Theatre Magazine. Additional credits include productions by City Lights Theatre Company in San Jose, California and Arizona Classical Theatre in Prescott. Her full-length play Cheap Food and Sex premieres in July of 2026 at Prescott’s new theatre “The Hazeltine.”
Also in Prescott, for nine years, along with Charissa Menefee, Micki produced Tomorrow’s Theatre Tonight—featuring readings of works-in-progress by Arizona playwrights. Micki is a proud member of the Dramatist’s Guild of America Info: www.mickishelton.com.
