Join "Two Old Broads Productions" at The Studio and witness a rollicking battle of wits in Ripcord, a comic tale of adversaries in a retirement home by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole, Fuddy Meers, Kimberly Akimbo).
A sunny room on an upper floor is prime real estate in the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility, so when the cantankerous Abby is forced to share her quarters with new-arrival Marilyn, she has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-upmanship that reveals not just the tenacity of these worthy opponents, but also deeper truths that each would rather remain hidden.
" . . . Mr. Lindsay-Abaire’s script is admirable in its precision and symmetry; there’s not a comic setup that isn’t balanced by a logically consistent payoff." --- The New York Times
Directed by Guest Director David Weiss, the cast features Studio members Judy Rollings, Patti Davis Suarez, Tom Koelbel and Julie Lee, with guest artists Nathan Spector and David Weiss.
