Christy Welty – singer, director, teacher
Christy has performed with many symphonies and opera companies. She began her singing career in the Golden Horseshoe Revue in Disneyland. While attending Arizona State University, she won the Regional Metropolitan Opera and San Francisco Opera auditions in Arizona. After a move East, she served as a faculty member at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, and the Head of the Voice Department at Five Towns College on Long Island while continuing to perform. Returning to Arizona in 2007, Christy established The Three of Us, a cabaret show featuring music from the Great American Songbook, and is the director and a singer in the comic opera The Old Maid and the Thief, which will begin touring to venues in Arizona later this year. As a member of the Valley of the Sun Chapter of National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), she has the great pleasure of teaching this craft she loves to many aspiring vocalists in her private studio. Christy joined The Studio in 2010 and immediately became a featured singer in The Ladies of Tin Pan Alley.
