Marcia Weinberg - actor
is living the dream she deferred of doing musical theater and becoming the Broadway Baby she always wanted to be. After retiring as a teacher back East, she studied musical theater performance at SCC and most recently at The Studio under the guidance of Joe Bousard. She created a popular course in musical theater history at SCC that combined lecture, weekly sing alongs and a show she wrote presented by the class at the end of each of nine semesters. The course was also offered at the JCC. Marcia has written two musical plays, one based on Cole Porter's music and one on Rodgers and Hart's work that were presented at SCC and the Kerr Center. In addition to taking part in many class revues at SCC (which she wrote the books for) she has played Mame, Bloody Mary and Elvira in Blithe Spirit. Musical theater is her passion, and she currently writes for, produces and directs a group of 25 singers called The Broadway Babies, who have performed for the past three years throughout the Valley. She is also in the process of getting a one-woman show ready for an audience. The day she found The Studio was her lucky day.
