Hal Corley - writer
Two of Hal's plays have been staged by The Studio, Peoria in 2009 and The Death Bite in 2007. Other recent productions include: ODD, winner of the Premiere Stages Competition in Sept. '07 co-produced with NJ's Kean University, excerpted in The Best Stage Scenes of 2008 by Smith & Kraus; Legion, San Francisco's New Conservatory Theater; Easter Monday, Pendragon Theatre, Saranac Lake, NY; In the Charge of an Angel, Stageworks, Hudson, NY and Mama and Jack Carew, 2002 Key West Theatre Festival. Hal's Brush the Summer By was workshopped by the Phoenix New Works Festival and Southern Rep in New Orleans and will be performed in the Adirondack Theatre Festival in July 2009. Hal has developed scripts with major LORT houses, including Atlanta's Alliance, the Dallas Theater Center, Seattle Rep, and in NYC with the Abingdon, Cherry Lane, E.S.T. and Urban Stages. Two plays, An Ounce of Prevention and Finding Donis Anne, have been widely performed (Syracuse Stage, Walnut Street, NYC's Westbeth and in LA, Boston and Charlotte). For his work in daytime serials, Hal has won five Emmys. He is an active member of the Dramatists Guild and the Writers Guild of America (East). ODD, Mama and Jack Carew and Easter Monday will be published by Samuel French, Inc. in 2009.
