Kathleen Butler – actor, director
Ms. Butler is proud and grateful to have worked closely with the remarkable Edward Albee. She originated the role of B in the world premiere of Three Tall Women and appeared in the New York, Chicago and Houston productions. She originated the role of Gillian in the world premiere of Marriage Play and reprised it at New York’s Signature Theatre Co., where in 2002 she also played Louise Nevelson in Albee’s Occupant. Both premieres were directed by Edward Albee at Vienna’s English Theatre. She recently finished playing Mrs. Barker in the revival of The American Dream at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York, which was also directed by the playwright. Other recent New York credits include: Wapato (Women’s Project), The Play About the Baby, The Last Seder, Lucky Rita (by Joe Stein), Triangles (Eleanor Roosevelt), Steel Magnolias (10th Anniversary production) and Hiding on the Outside.
