Alan Austin - actor, writer
In addition to being a professional actor, Alan has written, produced and directed numerous plays including the award-winning musical drama Percival. While in Singapore, he was also well known for his original British Pantomimes (referred to as pantos, these plays have nothing to do with French theatre artists or "mimes" but are take-offs of fairy tales produced in England each holiday season). One of his pantos, Father Christmas and The Snow Queen, was produced at Theatre Artists Studio in November/December 2009 and will be produced again for the 2010 holiday show. He was most recently seen at The Studio in Accomplice, and his original play Podski's Hole will be produced at The Studio in June. In addition to stage plays, he has published poetry and written several interactive murder mysteries for his wife's company, Murder Ink Productions. Alan was born in England and lived in Asia for over 12 years, where he was cultural advisor to the Singapore government.
